Is now open..... i know this is late but i just got this info today. the road was damaged by 2 landslides over the last few years. Also for those of you that attend the Meadow Creek rodeo on the New this allows 2 additional access points downstream of camp.

Dear Friends of the Glade Creek Road,
The official opening with a press release to the media will be this Friday,
January 11, but the gate has already been flung wide for a soft opening
like they do at department stores.
The workers are servicing the circulating system on the restrooms today and
tomorrow, and that is why the press release and official opening isn't
happening today.
The sides of the road will be seeded in the spring. The construction work
was done in a way that makes the road look pretty natural. I hope you like
it.
If you are a member of a group with a website, I would be grateful if you
would pass the word in a low key way that does not use my name or otherwise
take the wind out of the official announcement to the press which is coming
up on Friday. Thank you very much for your patience and love for this
special part of the park.
