No reports in May until now? Here is a one from the holiday weekend.
Got out with John today on a popular central Ohio flow and popped a few smallies. We had a lot short strikes and bait bumps by many fish today. I am suspecting they are still in spawn mode, but I think they are close to done. I did see what looked like a couple pods of frey. I can't recall ever fishing for nearly 8 hours and having 5 or 6 hits on a spinnerbait and not hooking up with the fish. I think we each boated 4 nice smallies and couple dink fish were caught to. A great day to be out and we watched a 16 boat floatilla of canoes and kayaks go by. Here's a couple pics from the day.
