You're welcome and thank you!!
It's nice to see a dedicated conservation forum here at this site...quite disappointing that OGF seems to lack such a forum.
I've recently gotten back into fishing after a long hiatus...though I am a spin fisherman...any attempt at fly fishing would most likely cause personal injury, then there's the possible harm to any small children and pets in the area...and frightening the geese. This time around I've aquired an interest in ultralight tackle though...still in the process figuring it all out.
Have begun well, IMHO, for what I can afford, with a St. Croix 7' Premier rod and an Shimano Symetre 500...too bad I couldn't find an equivelent reel made in the USA.
I do not care about catching limits and the "contest" mentality...the resource is paramount and it includes the entire ecosystem. I do not keep anything caught. Ohio's native brook trout fascinate me, given Ohio's state of developement....it would be nice just to be able to visit those streams and appreciate them.
Each of my outings include time for picking up trash...which I despise with a passion...especially that which is obviously left by fisherman. More access would be granted if we as fisherman treated other's property as our own....though I suspect that here, such things go without saying.
A favorite large pond very close to me, nice for casting practice if nothing else, is right here in the city...there I've seen deer, geese, mallards, turtles, frogs, great blue herons and bats. Thousands drive by this body of water every day, most without giving it a second look.

Well, I did end up asking whether a Conservation Forum could be added to OGF...submitted the request to Admin there and it's being considered.

Cool. My constant cross posting in multiple forums regarding our monthly TOSA meetings prompted them to add the "Outdoor Events & Seminars" forum.
