Welcome aboard!
Yakking is the only way to go SM fishing, opens a door wading cannot, and its darn fun but I warn ya, very addicting!
If you need a SOT I have one that has been only used once, 12 foot long with a scotty rod mount and deck rigging, large hatch. You can carry a ton of stuff for over night trips and she floats super shallow for our rivers. I have 2 other yaks and don't have the room since the wife likes the cars in the garage. I'm pricing it cheap for TOSA members, PM me if you want to see pics and price. Mike

Mike, Send me a note or PM about the yaks you have. My future son-in-law is looking for one for his 16yr. old brother.
I'll pass it along to him.

Rooster, I'll be fishing tomorrow on Paint Creek below Bainbridge. I have a number of yaks. I'll probably float/fish my Liquidlogic(now Heritage) Manta Ray 12 SOT.
The SOT is great as a utility angling platform that allows easy access/exit for wading, plenty of cargo and outfitting options. The Manta Ray I think is one of the best paddling, manuvering and angler/paddler combination boats on the market.
I fish the Deer from Williamsport to Rt. 104, now & then.

I have had 2 yaks so far, well 3, but only used 2. Sot, and a sink, either one will get you places you wish you made it to years ago.

Alos don't forget that you have to register a yak as well. Some people are unaware of that.

Rooster, Test float a couple on Sunday, June 1st , 10 am-2 pm. behind the YMCA in the lake at Yoctange park in Chillicothe. Paddle Power Boat Shop has its Demo Day. You can test float a number of kayak models and layouts.
A number of folks here have attended paddlepower event and demos.
I plan(hope) to be there. I'll be recovering from gall bladder surgey the prior Thursday. Usually I'm one of the safety boats or dock hands.
I'll gladly make certain we can get you into a few boats for a water test.

Rooster, You might want to look at the SOT "stuckathome" has for sale. Could be a good match for a creekwalker like you to travel those places a bite too deep or to far.
Good value!

Rooster, I be wearing a brown cap with smallmouth on it.
I won't be paddling as I had my gall bladder removed yesterday. I'm off the water for about three weeks.
Stop over and test the boats and chat. I have other paddlers/anglers coming.
