Man how the heck did I wade for all these years ? I bought my Swifty 9.5 before X-mas and since early April it has been a blast fishing from it. I was'nt sure at first if I was going to like it..but after the first trip I loved it and have not looked back. Here are a few pictures from this first season: Me: Me: 19 1/4" : Me: My son Tyler with his first Yak smallie: Tyler: My buddy Duane's Dirago set-up: tripple dip, Duane's Subaru: More later..... I'm scared! I think I'm telling my vintage. I got my first yak in '78'. I've had a feeeeew since. Each is a story that offered opportunities.
The boss says if I get another one I'm going to have to sleep with it.
I'll make certain she gets her favorite pillow and an extra blanket so she is comfy in the garage. It get chilly at times.

Looks like you've tweaked your yak to fish and are hooking up with some nice smallies.
That pic of the rack system is a great example for others to see what is possible.
The camera/GPS mount on the OT Diringo is sweet. I'd like to mount my Canon with underwater case on a mount.
The seasons not over till the water gets hard.
Happy T-Day to all!

Thanks Rick, I've tweaked my little Swifty to fit my needs...but i'm looking at a larger boat for next season....the Native Ultimate or Native Magic will be my next purchase. Yea my buddy Duane has been fishing from a yak for many years now and has his Yakima rack on his Outback hooked up...here is another shot: I've looked at many rack systems and Yakima is one of the best, I will be fitting my future purchase (Subaru Forester in Jan.) with something very simular thats for sure. If anyone is interested here are a few good links to check out: www.rackattack.com/index.aspwww.custommounts.com/Scott

Ah, thats the setup I saw on Craigslist with the dagger for sale. Did it ever sell?
You and Duane certainly don't look like the typical Subaru owners either......

Brock, Yes that was probably his Dagger on Craigslist...he did indeed sell it to a guy in Cleveland...I think for $400 ? "You and Duane certainly don't look like the typical Subaru owners either"... Not sure how to take that one? With gas prices going out of this world(and going to get even worse), the days of the big truck, V-8 and all that HP is LONG gone bro. Yea I certainly make enough that I could easily afford it..but why? When I can have a very reliable Subaru with a 2.5 4 cyl. all wheel drive that will do everything I need and pull 2700 lbs. and still get 30 mpg on the highay. Plus I have a chief mechanic at work that has a WRX thats pushing over 350hp to the wheels and he STILL gets good MPG.....it does'nt take long for even a big V-8 lover like myself to wake up. I personally love his Outback....roomy, very comfortable ride, great MPG, heated freakin seats, all-wheel drive and to top it off holds 3 kayaks..the "Darth Vader" rocks in my book. Plus were in our 30's and make very good money....we have to atleast "look" grown up and responsible...lol. Scott

Nothing negative meant by it. Just that most of the scooby wagons I see are driven by soccer moms, you guys look like dudes from Anthrax, lol.
I drive an Xterra, so I know what you are talking about with gas mileage. No heated seats, but it will get outta spots I shouldn't even be in. I really like the load height of the wagons though, Kevin here has a Saab thing and its easy as pie to load since you don't have to lift the yaks so high.
You bolted after the meeting, meant to ask you what you did since you had a 4 day on, 4 day off schedule. I was just wondering.

LOL...nothing bad taken from your statement at all man.
Duane and I work for Ball Metal Food Container corporation in Hillard. We make metal cans for human and pet food companys.
I am a Supervisor in the Press dept. he is a Chief Mechanic in the Weld dept, we both work the same shift too..7pm til 7am.
Yea I thought I had worked great sced. in the past but 4 days on, 4 days off is the best i've seen so far...well unless you dont have to work at all.
It gives us plenty of time to get our fishing fix thats for sure, plus when we have weekdays off its the best for uncrowded waters ;D .

Saab..very nice indeed ;D. Audi Quattro wagons are the chit...I think thats Duane's dream wagon. They are a bit pricey though...lol. My other buddy Jake has a Ford Explorer..pain in the arse to load a yak into the J carriers because its so tall(well for us SHORT guys it is)..wagons are the way to go unless you buy one of these from Trailex: Scott

that subaru has the new style Blackwater on it. i could show you guys about 15 reasons why that new version is not as versatile or worthy as the 1997 - 2000 boats. what a shame they changed it so.
that said i like your enthusiasm scott. its rare anymore. my buddy dave converted a 4x8 utility trailer into a hauler that can handle 8 yaks of any length or width. beefier axles and tires and a storage area under it all. if scott ever tells me how he's getting the pics up ill post one!

Dave, Yea they did change the Dagger..thats why Duane got rid of it. Our buddy at work has the older version of the Dagger and loves it. I posted on another thread how to post pictures..but i'll do it again for ya. You cant upload pictures from your computer to this site....theres no option for it sadly. If you have a picture on the internet that you want to post, go to that picture, right click your mouse, then click "properties" copy the URL then click OK....go to your post and type in [ img ] at the begining, then paste the URL you saved, after that you have to type in [ / img ]at the end of the URL.....but dont leave any space , I had to for it to show up. It goes like this.... [ img ] farm3.static.flickr.com/2285/1907711832_f30556c987_o.jpg [ /img ] Now I left spaces in there for you to see the way to post it...if you dont leave any spaces it comes out like this: Hope this helps?
