Pretty much have decided that I really like my St Croix Avid's...have an ultralight, light amd medium light.
I may eventually get a medium rod too.
Now have Shimano Saros F's for the L and ML, in 1000 and 2500 sizes...still have the Symetry 500FJ for my UL, I wish there were a 500 size in the Saros line.
A new reel to try however...a Penn Affinity 2000. Discontinued, though it's simply the Ryobi Zauber with the Penn name on it...only $65 It seems favored in Australia and other parts of Asia...not encountered much here in the USA. All metal, to include the rotor, but still only around 10 oz. It feels solid, has worm drive...interesting to field test it against the 2500 Saros on the ML rod.
